When messaging contacts in the US or Canada, they will always see your sender ID as your OpenPhone number; however, this may change when messaging internationally. For some messages to international countries, you cannot have 2-way texting (i.e. you message a client and they can message you back at the same number).
Countries with 2-way SMS messaging
If you are messaging one of the below countries, then they will receive a message from your OpenPhone number. When they reply to that message, it should arrive in your OpenPhone inbox, just as any other message.
International countries with 2-way SMS messaging include:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Canada
- Chile
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland
- Hong Kong
- Hungary
- Israel
- Italy
- Lithuania
- Netherlands
- Phillippines
- Poland
- Portugal
- Singapore
- Slovakia
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
Countries without 2-way messaging
For any country not listed above, you can still send international messages but they will receive the message from a different sender ID than your OpenPhone number. This change occurs automatically to comply with local regulations and ensure deliverability.
