I'm not receiving verification codes on OpenPhone

Are you waiting for a verification code to your OpenPhone number from a service you're signing up with?

In many cases, services that use 2-factor authentication (2FA) don't allow virtual phone numbers to be used during the registration/verification step. Services like Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, PayPal, Google, WhatsApp, and banks, for example, don't allow virtual phone numbers to be used for this purpose.

Why not?

This is because virtual numbers are much easier to get and work on multiple devices, therefore, making them less desirable for authentication purposes.

What does this mean?

This means that you won't be able to sign up for an account using an OpenPhone number.

What do I do?

We recommend using your personal phone number for new account creation and OpenPhone for all other purposes as you see fit!
