How to change the number of rings until voicemail

You can customize everything about your OpenPhone number, even the amount of time callers stay on the line before getting to your voicemail.

By default, it's 15 seconds between the caller starts hearing the rings and getting to your voicemail.

We've been asked what number of "rings" this amounts to. It depends. For callers from some carriers, it's five to six rings, for others four.

You can customize ring duration right from your OpenPhone admin dashboard.

Here's how:

1. Click "Settings" ⚙️ from the left-hand menu.

2. Under "Workspace", click "Phone Numbers".

3. Select the number you'd like to modify settings for.

4. Scroll down to "Ring duration" and select your desired number of seconds before callers get to your voicemail.
